If that is your (and your fellow protestants') belief then I am bereaved.

When I was an evangelical Protestant I was taught that I was exempt from the Last Judgement (the "Great White Throne") because I was saved, the LJ reserved for the unsaved/hellbound. While the unsaved/hellbound were sweating out their Judgment, my place was supposed to be before the Lord so that he could bestow the "rewards" that I might have coming to me.

BTW, contrary to the popular Protestant way of defining how Orthodox and Roman Catholics pray to the Saints, "pray" to the Saints in the O and RC traditions means to "ask of." As you would ASK a friend or your pastor to pray for you, we ASK OF the Mother of God and the Saints to pray for us knowing that the prayer of the Righteous "availeth much."

As for the charge against us that we "pray to the dead" (i.e. "necromancy"), we must answer, "Dead? Who is dead?" This is a most puzzling charge directed to those who are with the Lord!

Anyway, back to the Last Judgement. I just wanted to give you a friendly word of warning:

Please, dear Protestants, for your own sake cease your slanders, your libels against the Mother of God and the Saints. At the Last Judgement, it would be a terrible if the Holy Ones of God were to stand as witnesses against you.

Matthew 12:36
"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."

Since the ACTIVE Communion of the Saints is outside of your spiritual experience, it is best not to speak of things that you know nothing about, things of which you have no experience.

- a former evangelical Protestant who is now an Orthodox Christian.
