Truth About Theophostic Prayer Calling Jesus Into Your Memory

1. Theophostics: There are three risks of making woundedness the root of sinfulness: ...

Many use Theophostics - healing life's hurts through theophostic prayer - is really theophostic prayer new age - Theophostic danger.

1) minimizes the seriousness of sin, ...

2) minimizes the glory of forgiveness and repentance, ...

3) minimizes the power of spiritual disciplines

Sin based theology or lie-based theology?

At its core, the difference between TPM and Evangelical Theology is the view of sin. In basic terms Theophostic Theology sees sin as the result of lies that have been believed leading to defective thinking and ultimately manifesting as sin. Evangelical Theology sees sin as the product of our fallen natures and corrupt flesh. Clearly these two views are polar opposites and as always we must search the Scriptures for the truth.

They use “inner healing” techniques drawn from occultism, especially the “recovery” of repressed memories in order to heal those memories.  It is not God's way to heal.  In yoga, practitioners uncover repressed memories and then apply the healing power of kundalini (i.e., the serpent).

God’s Truth:

Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Mark 1:14-15 “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching that gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Luke 5:31-32 “Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

What does it mean to have believed the lie of the enemy?

Romans 7:8-10 “But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead. I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me.”

II Thessalonians 2:9-12 “The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned, who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

2. Ed Smith says his technique is new.

This technique has been around for centuries by the New Age Healers called Theta healers and other types of inner healers. The lie-based theology has striking similarities to Gnostic beliefs about the cause of sin in a person’s life. Gnostics and New Agers do not look to salvation or repentance but lie-based belief to your problem. Theta Healers and do the same type of practice to get in touch with lie-based memories by calling in the person’s spirit guides or angels into their memory to bring healing and if you are a Christian, they will call your Jesus into your memory.

3. Ed Smith’s background is Christian Psychology.

Ed Smith has 17 prior years of experience in psychological counseling. Psychology is rooted in occultism. The "core theory and practice" of TPM involve psychotherapeutic theories and practices, which include recovered memories, visualization, and, at times, hypnosis. The conjuring up of a Jesus figure to answer prayers and give truth in the manner practiced in TPM is absent in Scripture and is centered on the sins of others and the accompanying "wounds" inflicted by others. This is just the opposite of what is seen in Scripture. We have to take responsibility of sins from others that afflicted us such as dealing with unforgiveness.

Carl Jung is one of the father’s to Psychology. Jung’s research asserts the concept of an impersonal or “collective unconscious” (a type of library containing everything ever known) present in each person’s unconscious. The inspiration came to Jung from contacting the spirit realm. Jung claimed that his spirit guide, Philemon (more on “it” later), was a source of information that gave him crucial insights. According to Don Matzat, “Jung theorized that all humanity, past and present, were connected on an unconscious plane. Jung placed a "scientific" footing under occult phenomena and mystical experience. Jung was deeply involved in the occult and did his doctoral thesis on parapsychology.

Agnes Sanford brought inner healing 50 years go into the church. Agnes Sanford who was a studier of Jung, and a mentor to John Sanford and other psychologists in and out of the church.”

Agnes Sanford believed “experience comes before theology.” She taught various visualization techniques, teaching that one could forgive another's sins through visualization. The technique of visualization became the key to her inner healing teachings. One visualizes a situation in the past, then visualizes Jesus coming into their
circumstance to solve the problem. She stated “I believe imagination is one of the most Imagination is one of the keys to the relationship of prayer with God.” “Prayer through the imagination . . . picturing the healing.” She also promoted Jungian psychotherapy, and believed Jesus became a part of the collective unconscious of the human race.

Sanford called God “primal energy,” “the very life-force existing in a radiation of an energy ... from which all things evolved,” that “God ... made everything out of Himself and He put a part of Himself into everything” and called Jesus “that most profound of psychiatrists.” Sanford's pastor was Morton Kelsey who studied at the C.G. Jung

Institute near Zurich, Switzerland, and who became a Jungian psychologist, as did Sanford's son, John Sanford.

4. With visualizing Jesus into your memory, you are opening your mind to occult spirit guides making you believe it is Jesus. You are getting a false light! Any time you visualize or go back you are going into a trance state (altered state of consciousness). When you “drift back”, you put oneself into a passive state of mystical receptivity and await words from a mystical Christ, which opens oneself up to deceiving spirits. Closing your eyes and drifting back puts you into Theta Brain Waves which opens up the unconscious. Yoga, hypnotism, visualization, emptying the mind for something else to come in – spirit guides, guided angels, etc.

What is Theta Brain Waves? Theta (4 to 8 cycles per second) the slowest brain cycle.

Deep meditation of emptying the mind does this. This is associated with life-like imagination. This is best for suggestibility and inspiration. This brain wave is dominant in children of age 2 to 5. Theta waves appear before sleep. At first your mind goes empty, and then the feeling is replaced by creative imagination or day dreaming. Example: have you ever been not quite a wake and not asleep and can hear everything going on around you but you are still dreaming? That is Theta Brain Waves.

There is no evidence in scripture to look inside your self. God’s word and ways of dealing with hurts is through deliverance and washing your mind with the word by quoting his word. His way is active. Anytime you look inward, then you are being passive with your mind.

Being passive with your mind causes your mind to go to self-induced Theta Brain Wave (altered-state of consciousness – self hypnosis and/or trance state) blocks your cerebral cortex that discerns reality to be bypassed.

5. People will feel healed but what is happening is the cerebral cortex gets blocked and cannot discern reality or it bypasses rational thinking. Plus, you open the pinal gland to be sensitive to the supernatural or a gateway to free reign of demons. The 3rd eye or psychic eye is opened. The New Agers and others such as Freemasons call it being “Enlightened.” Look on your dollar bill and see the 3rd eye. When you do TPM, you are becoming “Enlightened” with psychic ability.

Later the person will experience anxiety (maybe in weeks, months or years from now) and have no memory attached to why the anxiety because of the cerebral amnesia. The peace they encounter at the time is a counterfeit peace and counterfeit healing. Satan gives healing and then he takes back with vengeance through anxiety attacks or confusion or a lack of being able to focus or concentrate, tormenting dreams, etc.

God gave us minds to test the reality around us. And He gave us the power of independent choice based on a mature assessment of the facts. But satan's desire is for man to be like an animal without thought or will to resist. For demonic rule to begin in a person's life, there first must be willingness to submit to such a rule. But the problem is that satan is never honest about his intentions, and may win this willingness by deception. In other words, even Christians may be deluded into accepting the influence of evil powers, if they are unwary and ignorant of his devices.

6. We should never take a person back into memories and then call in a Jesus into a negative memory to be healed. Christian and secular, claim immediate healing from past trauma/victimization issues, which seems to be their conclusive proof. If cerebral amnesia has occurred, then the person is not healed at all. The fear/trauma issues are now blocked from consciousness. If this is the case, the spiritual lie is really the work of spirits of fear, which are now able to torment at levels that prevent resolution such as anxiety attacks with no memory attached.

Second, a person who relives a memory can experience abreactions. What is an abreaction? A person reliving an event before the Lord is ready to show them a memory. Results: More fear enters into them. Fear brings torment and bondage. This can create a person to start having anxiety attacks, nightmares and torment.

7. What is Satan’s plan? When someone is able to go into altered state of consciousness, then your mind is being trained to suggestibility. In the latter times, there will be use of telethought communications or sound waives to control the masses who have been programmed through altered-state of consciousness. Satan wants to control your mind. A person who has gone through Theophostic Prayer Ministry, eventually will have problems of focusing and/or have confusion. Some other symptoms of falling asleep in church or falling asleep while reading the Word of God.

Satan is not working in a haphazard and aimless way. No, he is working out his 'Master Plan' for world take-over. The first step was taken in Eden, when Lucifer secured the co-operation of fallen man in ruling the world system. Later he brought mankind into oneness at Babel and except for God's intervention he would have achieved world dominion at that time.

Today, his plan is the same: he is re-programming the minds of men and women in order to build himself a visible earthly empire, his "kingdom". How!

The power of satan concentrates on the SOUL, located in the MIND. Its centre is the physical brain and the subconscious mind of man. The third eye will be used by satan to complete his Master Plan for world take-over through telethought communication. Again, he wants total control of your mind.

When the church has fallen into visualization techniques, inner healing modalities, then the 3rd eye has been opened. Lucifer’s plan is to speak to man directly through his opened soul- eye.

Through the hook-up of his mind to spiritual forces, the image of light has the ability to speak. The message it brings speaks of the Great Infinite Way and our role...these codes of light extend through telethought communication."

What is more to the point is the preparation going on at this moment to condition us all - even in the churches - to accept his words.

Sin-based theology vs. lie-based theology.

"The most significant difference we have with Theophostic is whether sanctification is now complete or is something ongoing." - Philip Monroe, co-author of a "Theological Analysis of

Theophostic Ministry," quoted in Lying Spirits. Is the root of man’s problem sin?

We must turn to God’s Word for the answer. John 8:34-36 “Jesus answered them, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave to sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” Whatever the case, sin is problem enough to have required the coming of Jesus in the form of a man followed by His death on a cross in order to provide freedom to those enslaved by sin!

On page 225 Dr. Smith says “The trouble with this belief is it doesn’t work. I believe we need to be honest about the success rate we are having trying to get people free through this approach. Is what we are doing truly producing “maintenance-free victory” by confessing, repenting, and trying really hard?”

What is the ultimate lie?

I Corinthians 6:9-11 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?

Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”

Galatians 6:7-9 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

The ultimate deception is to think that one can live a life of perpetual sin and be saved. Nowhere in Scripture is the notion of a lifestyle of sin considered consistent with regeneration.

There are three main categories of mind-blanking opportunities:

Jesus appearing to the client is the same as the New Age practice of channeling.

CHEMICAL:

• Drug and Solvent Abuse

• Alcoholic Excess

• Hallucinogenic substances - 'magic mushrooms', LSD etc

• Many prescribed medication

One of the reasons for the huge increase in drug abuse is that New Agers know drugs are a quick route to loss of conscious control. The Bible suggests that drug-taking will lead to a terrible judgment from God: The word used in Revelation 9:21 for 'sorceries' is in Greek 'pharmakeia', or the use of drugs.

PHYSICAL:

• Yoga and relaxation exercises coupled with meditation

• Head-banging, shaking, convulsive dancing etc

• Whirling, as with Dervishes

• Loud repetitive music, especially rock music

• Flashing Lights

• Drum beats with rhymthic jumping, clapping and/or chanting

• Obsessive TV, Video or Computer screen viewing

• Hypnotism, altered states of consciousness

• Sensory Deprivation of various kinds

• Electric Shock Treatments

Such methods have been in use for centuries. In the account of Elijah's battle with the Prophets of Baal, we see the idol-worshippers leaping or dancing round their altar, shouting with loud voices and cutting themselves with knives to make the blood of their sacrifice flow. (1 Kings 18:26-29) The indigenous peoples of America and Africa do much the same. The object is simply to create a state of unconsciousness in the brain whereby demons can enter (and speak, in the case of the prophets of Baal). Anything repetitive, or loud or mind-blowing enough will do. The teenagers who walk around plugged into blaring heavy-metal music, and the cultists chanting to the beat of their drums are achieving the very same effect as the Baal worshippers of Elijah's day.

Christian parents - a word of warning. Rock music opens doors to demon powers. It is designed to
do so. Many of the beats are based on tribal chants and religious rites. Many of the words are openly
satanic, and other terrible spells are recorded secretly on the tapes. If you want to keep your child out of danger, challenge his or her use of rock music. The very act of filling the mind with this music causes oppression, and some youngsters have killed themselves or others because of it.

RELIGIOUS/PSEUDO SCIENTIFIC:

• New Age Music

• Yoga and Transcendental Meditation

• Psychic mediumship and trances

• Self-hypnosis

• Scientific religion (EG Scientology)

• Visualisation and Guided Imagery

• Mysticism - passive prayer techniques etc – emptying your mind

• Chanting of mantras

• Bio-feedback/Alpha Dynamics etc

• Any 'Christian' ministry which involves emptying or bypassing the mind

• Inner healing – looking inside yourself to lost memories

The above illustrations by no means exhaust the list of mind-emptying rituals offered to people today. Examples abound. But they illustrate the type of activity which satan is promoting in order to raise a whole generation of thoughtless, passive 'fodder' for his evil work.

YOGA is not just physical exercise. The word means 'yoke' or 'union' - the exercises, and particularly the
breathing, are designed to eliminate the brain's conscious activity and to allow 'union with the Infinite'.

MEDITATION is often accompanied by chanting of mantras and 'centering', which is focusing on a light or object until vision is dimmed. The continuous chanting of a 'mantra' (the name of a deity, in fact) brings the
power of that god into the mind. In the Eastern religions, the name OM is highly prized as a powerful mantra. But in the West, some so-called Christian practitioners suggest the use of I AM.

The object in both cases is to "still the mind to hear the inner voice of higher intelligences whose aim is to influence and co-operate with man."(36)

BIOFEEDBACK and other such methods of 'scientific meditation' achieve the same results. The brain-waves are recorded and brought into harmony, supposedly leading to inner peace, but actually promoting a
passive state of mind.

STRESS-MANAGEMENT is big business today, but many techniques used (even in primary schools!) are designed to relax conscious control of the brain and let the mind float free to experience other realms. Often, guided imagery is taught through relaxation exercises.

SELF-HYPNOSIS/NEW AGE MUSIC another area of deception that is growing in popularity. The New Age tapes of soothing, soporific music are used for meditation but often have subliminal tracks of suggestions recorded on them.

Some of these tapes, with unheard but powerful messages, are openly advertised as useful for behaviour modification - to stop smoking, for example. But other tapes, seemingly just of music, are secretly full of satanic messages which slip into the unguarded mind.

AUTOMATIC WRITING.

One last area of concern is the production of books, teachings and so-called prophecies by remote
control. There are those who believe themselves to be controlled by the Spirit of God, when really they have let their minds come under the control of demons.

CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER/CENTERING DOWN

Many churches are already incorporating many New Age forms of "prayer" or meditation. Contemplative and labyrinth prayer and centering down are used to empty the mind and focus on self. Visualization is used to allegedly empty the body of evil and replace it with good. This is straight New Age teaching, not biblical, yet Richard Foster and others have successfully leavened this into many churches. The Bible tells us to pray to the Lord with our mind, body and spirit. We cannot be cleansed from evil by visualization techniques, only by the atoning sacrifice of Jesus

Christ on the cross, our repentance from sin, and our believing and following Jesus.

ALL THE ABOVE RELEASE KUNDALINI

What these two men were experiencing is called Kundalini meditation or the Kundalini effect. Symptoms can include headaches, nausea, tingling sensation, and uncontrollable twitching. The Sanskrit word Kundalini means the curled one, and is also called Kundalini awakening or the awakening of the serpent. Practitioners describe it as a curled channel in the tailbone area. It can rise through the chakras (psychic centers situated along the spine from the tailbone to the top of the head), creating physical symptoms ranging from sensations of heat and tremors to involuntary laughing or crying, nausea, diarrhea or constipation, rigidity or limpness, and animal-like movements and sounds.

A Kundalini release can be triggered by erroneous meditation, yoga, breathing exercises, reiki, qigong healing, tantra, transcendental meditation and other eastern or new age spiritual exercises. When the Kundalini energy is rising through the chakras, it can cause big problems for the bodily and mental health. We have got hundreds of e-mails from people around the world who have been damaged by these artificial spiritual exercises.

Other Kundalini symptoms include:

• Burning hot or ice cold streams moving up the spine.

• Pains in varying locations throughout the body.

• Vibrations, unease, or cramps in legs and other parts of body.

• Fast pulse and increased metabolism.

• Disturbance in the breathing—and/or heart function.

• Sensitivity to sound, light, smell, and proximity of other people.

• Mystical/religious experiences.

• Parapsychological abilities.

• Persistent anxiety or anxiety attacks, confusion

• Insomnia, manic high spirits or deep depression. Energy loss.

• Impaired concentration and memory.

• Total isolation due to inability to communicate inner experiences out.

• Experiences of possession and poltergeist phenomena.

Repetitive music/mantra

Singing hymns and spiritual songs that worship the Lord has been replaced in many churches by repetitive Christian mantras that empty the mind and stir up the flesh. Christians dance around, clapping and raising their hands, emptying their minds of truth and filling it with rhythmic pulsing music that drowns out reason and replaces it with emotion. This is a New Age technique used by Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and many other eastern mystics.

God NEVER speaks or guides while the mind is blank. He ALWAYS requires a person's full control
and exercise of his own mind and will. So, those who hear inner messages, or who write under the control of certain powers, are just allowing themselves to be used for purposes of deception. Also, those who teach Christians to empty their minds in order to 'hear God' are leading the Church astray.

Some years ago, a book called Jonathan Livingstone Seagull became very popular, and some Christians received it as from God. But the teaching in it was basically Hinduistic, and IT WAS

DICTATED BY THE AUTHOR'S SPIRIT-GUIDE. Another best-selling series of books produced by 'inner messages of the mind', is God Calling. This purports to be the daily messages from God received by two women. But these two 'listeners' wrote the book by letting their minds go blank and
then recording whatever came into them. However pleasant these messages may be, if they were received in blankness, they are NOT of God.

A book dictated to an atheist psychologist, Helen Shucman, by a spirit claiming to be Jesus is now being used as teaching material in churches round the world. It is called A Course In Miracles. It claims to correct the many errors of the Bible, teaching that we are all gods in the making and that evil does not exist. The Course views the world as a 'collective illusion' and tells us that the answer to our problems is to change our perceptions about ourselves and the world. This, of course, is simply New Age propaganda, yet Christians are willing to receive the lies of a spirit-being if he calls himself Jesus and speaks through a person's mind!

Spirit guidance of this sort is not only dictated and written. It is also spoken through false prophets, some of whom operate in Church circles. Some prophesies given out at meetings and then circulated round the Church by newsletters are the product of an empty mind open to demons. We must never fall into the trap of accepting prophesies as valid before using the discernment God provides. This sort of false prophecy leads to no end of confusion in the Church, and only serves the cause of satan.

A SPIRITUAL MIND

The mind which is available to God, and free from attack, is sharp, clear, active, pure and able to interpret spiritual truths easily.

• A Spiritual Mind is: RENEWED - it is full of the Word of God, set on spiritual things, and not pre-occupied with earthly matters.

• A Spiritual Mind is: CO-OPERATIVE - it works alongside the spirit, as its partner, checking out, translating and expressing spiritual truths which are received from God. When the teaching comes from outside the spirit - by hearing, seeing etc - the mind co-operates with the spirit in examining and cross-checking the teaching, applying its own education to the teaching, and also subjecting it to the scrutiny of the spirit.

• A Spiritual Mind is: SUBMISSIVE - it keeps humble, avoiding proud thoughts; it never usurps the position of the spirit. The mind has an artificial light, as of a light-bulb, but the spirit is lit by the glorious sunlight of God. Spiritual revelation comes through the spirit, not the mind. Often the simple, humble Christian who depends on God for illumination knows far more than an intellectual Christian.

• A Spiritual Mind is: OPEN - A closed mind is prejudiced and bigoted, opposed to God's truth, but an open mind is pliable and easily entreated. It does not reject out of hand all ideas that seem alien to its own light.

• A Spiritual Mind is: CONTROLLED - each input is carefully examined before it is accepted, and the mind is not allowed to drift idly in a sea of information. The spiritual Christian knows that thoughts are the seeds of action, and he guards himself against any thought contrary to God's way.

• A Spiritual Mind is: PEACEFUL - it rests on God, not on circumstances, and rejects tormenting thoughts, doubts, worries, fears and imaginings as from the devil. It flies to the Lord in trouble, not to feelings or thoughts.

CONCLUSION

• Don’t be deceived by the idea that the foundation for inner healing is psychotherapeutic. That’s just the worm on the hook to reel you in, as we Americans are well primed, through decades of propaganda from the psychotherapeutic industry, to think that the psychotherapeutic approach is the best and most scientific way to resolve problems of living.

Inner healing is merely a Trojan horse. You may let it come in hoping to cure a particular problem in your life, like overeating. But, soon, you will be encouraged to view your entire walk with Christ through this method, since inner-healing proponents view inner healing as the best, most effective way to sanctify a believer. It’s not just a therapy, although the methodology rests upon psychotherapeutic notions of the Freudian42 unconscious (Both the Sandfords and Smith) and Jungian archetypes (Sandfords).43 In fact, it’s a new doctrine of sanctification that promotes a spiritual technology involving mystical journeys into a person’s past in order to give him the power to overcome sin, because, assert inner-healing proponents, the orthodox Christian doctrine of sanctification just doesn’t work. A new thing is needed in order to transform the Church in these last days. The foundation undergirding the Sandfords’ inner healing ideas is Dominionist theology.

• God never changes. His Word and His Person are the objective truth. Avoid subjective reality
• Remember that the mind is not the spirit of man. God never speaks by flashing thoughts or visual experiences presented to the mind. God speaks and controls by a spiritual prompt which is translated into human knowledge by the mind. The mind and its powers are soulish, earthly and fallen, and must be submitted to God.

• God wants us to use and control our own minds. He commands us to renew our fallen minds that is, to walk in the Spirit, not by the reason and judgment of the natural man.

• The mind and the spirit must work in co-operation in prayer, worship and guidance. The Christian mind needs the spirit to inspire and control; the Christian spirit needs the mind to regulate and interpret the things of God.

• Cast down imaginations! Never let thoughts or pictures in the mind rule your thinking about God. The imagination of man, though useful, is unreliable.

• Defend the door of your mind, as a soldier defends a fort. Never let stray thoughts enter without a challenge, and never be careless over the information you (and especially your children) take into your minds. Monitor as much as possible what your children are taught, and be on the lookout for relaxation exercises, guided imagery, journaling, dream-recording, and the discussion of eastern religions in school. Also, monitor carefully the cartoons and comics children see.

• Refuse your natural desires for power, experiences, thrills, and input from dominant miracleministries. Especially, do not allow anyone to lay hands on you or prophesy over you unless you are completely sure that the ministry is from God - go to God before you go to ANY minister!

• Worship and prayer must be directed to Father in Heaven, through and by Jesus Christ, in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. This is the only scriptural way. Prayer must not be directed AT another person, nor offered to a localised 'presence' in the room.

If you think I’m picking on Theophostic Prayer Ministry, I apologize ahead of time. I was a practicioner as well as subjecting myself to the ministry for 4.5 years. What resulted? I started having anxiety that increased in time. Second, I became easily trance out or hypnotic, especially when I was around the word, third, my ability to concentrate or focus was affected, fourth, I had a hard time hearing the word or staying awake reading the word. To say, my mind was greatly affected.

Satan heals today but will take away your healing with vengeance to find another modality with occult background to take you deeper.

By Traci Morin, Touch of God International Ministries, a Christian healing and deliverance ministry, setting captives free from demonic torment and sickness and disease.

I’ve done extensive research on this subject since I was involved in Theophostic and know the effects it had on me as well as countless others that have come to J2W Ministries and have become free from mental issues due to Theophostic Prayer Ministry.

The Truth About Theophostic

There are three risks of making woundedness the root of sinfulness:

l) minimizes the seriousness of sin, ...

2) minimizes the glory of forgiveness and repentance, ...

3) minimizes the power of spiritual disciplines ...

Sin based theology or lie-based theology:

The the core, the difference between TPM and Evangelical Theology is the view of sin.  In basic terms, Theophostic Theology sees sin as the result of lies that have been believed leading to defective thinking and ultimately manifesting as sin.  Evangelical Theology sees sin as the product of our fallen natures and corrupt flesh.  Clearly these two views are polar opposites and as always we must search the scriptures for the truth on the issues of sin and healing, the question remains for Christian counselors and the evangelical community as a whole as to whether Smith's theological basis is consistent with responsible biblical doctrine.
2. A self-induced hypnotic state, which can lead to believing self-generated fantasies about one's past:

Another key point to understand is that people are capable of hypnotizing themselves, referred to as creating a self-induced trance ...By relabelling hypnotic trance techniques 'Holy Spirit guidance,' Christian regressionists have misled clients to believe that they were not engaging in hypnosis when in fact they were."

3. Risk of the loss of familial relationships:

I believe there is asignficant risk of the unnecessary loss of familial love for anyone who engages in Theophostic Prayer Ministry or any other type of inner healing modality.

4. Risk of falsely accusing innocent people as a result of entering into a hypnotic trance.

"Without opportunity to defend themselves, people's reputations and families have been wiped out based on the whim of a hypnotic fantasy." The injustice that we as a society have engaged in is enormous

5. Divisiveness within churches.

Smith says if the pastor doesn't agree with Theophostic Ministry, it may be time to leave and find a church where it is possible to minister more freely.'" - Jan Fletcher, Lying Spirits. Theophostic Ministry brings conflict into churches.

Theophostic is not biblical

1) Sin-based theology vs. lie-based theology.

"The most significant difference we have with Theophostic is whether sanctification is now complete or is something ongoing." -Philip Momoe, coauthor of a "Theological Analysis ofTheophostic Ministry," quoted in Lying Spirits.

2) The assumption that a divine visitation will always occur upon initiating a Theophostic Prayer Ministry session.

"However, the idea that God's oniIripresence resides Within human memory or that God is somehow required to reveal his presence Within one's memory is neither part of orthodox theology nor a concept found in scripture. It - David Entwistle.

3) The assumption that a counterfeit or imaginary Jesus will be easily recognized.

On what basis are we to conclude whether the appearance of Jesus in TPM is literal or figurative, based on revelation or imagination?" - David Entwistle, quoted in Charisma Magazine, "Smith offers the following tests to determine whether or not the Jesus who appears to the person in a Theophostic session is really the genuine article. With an imposter Jesus, there will usually be no face or it will appear grey or hazy and
sometimes will have glowing eyes (usually red). Other signs of a 'false Jesus,' according to Smith, are that the words an imposter spirit speaks will be 'easily discerned as false. The real Jesus will feel loving, while the fake one will have no feeling, or be like a cardboard figure, or be evil or hostile." -Jan Fletcher, Lying Spirits.

4) An explanation of the demonic realm based on Smith's exposition of "Dominion" theology, as explained in chapter 19 of Beyond Tolerable Recovery.

Example:

Here is a small sample of Smith's comments to the contrary, which are in the 2000 edition of Beyond Tolerable Recovery: "She could not see any visual of the event. I asked her to focus on the belief that she was trapped. ..(p. 49) "I asked her to focus... as she focused on this emotional/physical memory picture... (p. 50). I lead him to locate the historical picture that matches the current feelings. (p. 50) I ask him to drift back through time. ..if after a few moments of 'drifting' he does not connect a matching memory picture, I suggest he go toa place where he lived as a child. .." (p. 51) "Visualize your husband touching you sexually."

..See your father having intercourse with you." (p. 370) For Smith to say that people are never told to visualize anything is a bold and phenomenally contradictory statement easily disproved by simply reading his books.  "Smith offers the following tests to determine whether or not the Jesus who appears to the person in a Theophostic session is really the genuine article. With an imposter Jesus, 'there will usually be no face or it will appear grey or hazy and sometimes will have glowing eyes (usually red).

A New Ager: For the Christian, how do we measure these experiences? If the spiritual manifestation is the spirit guide of Bernie Siegel, the famous Jewish doctor and author of "Love, Medicine, and Miracles," who comes dressed as a Jewish hippie spouting universal love and acceptance for everyone regardless of their faith, many Christians would reject such a guide, even if this spirit brings the miracle of ridding them of cancer. But if the spiritual manifestation looks like Jesus, feels like Jesus, and seems to be Jesus, is that enough of a measurement?

Do we stop there, based on an experience and a miracle, or do we go further and evaluate the experience based on scripture?

Sin based theology or lie-based theology?

At its core, the difference between Theophostic Theology and Evangelical Theology is the view of sin. The truth is any type of inner healing where you go back into memories is Hindu practices.

On pages 224-225 of his book "Beyond Tolerable Recovery", Dr. Ed Smith says that "I have come to believe that there is a fundamental misconception about the root of sinful behavior (in the true Christian) and the reason~ that many people struggle with sin throughout their Christian lives. The fundamental misconception I am describing is what I call sin-based theology.

Sin based theology believes that the root of my problem is sin. It says, Because I have sinned I suffer and am in pain. To befree of my pain I must repent of my sin, confess it to God, and choose to obey and apply the truth of God's Word. By this I can walk in victory."

.Is the root of man's problem sin?

We must turn to God's Word for the answer. John 8 :34-36" Jesus answered them, Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave to sin. And a slaved oesn ot abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." Whatever the case, sin is problem enough to have required the coming of Jesus in the form of a man followed by His death on a cross in order to provide freedom to those enslaved by sin!

On page 225 Dr. Smith says "The trouble with this belief is it doesn't work. I believe we need to be honest about the success rate we are having trying to get people free through this approach. Is what we are doing truly producing" maintenance~freveic tory" by confessing repenting, and trying really hard?"

Are repentance and confession the proper responses to sin?

Matthew 4:1.7 "From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Mark 1: 14-15 "Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching that gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, 'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gosple".

Luke 5:31-32 "Jesus answered and said to them, 'Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the rightous but sinners to repentence."

What does it mean to have believed the lie of the enemy?

Romans 7: 8-10 "But sin. taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead. I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died. And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. For sin. taking occasion by the commandment. deceived me. and it killed me."

II Thessalonians 2:9-12 "The coming of the lawless one is according to the workings of Satan with all manner of evil desire with all power, signs and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish because the did not receive the love of the truth that the mi ht be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion that the should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned, who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

What is the ultimate lie?

I Corinthians 6:9-11 "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."

Galatians6 :7-9 Do not be deceived.  God is not mocked for whatever man sows that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlansing life.  And let us not grow weary  while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not loose heart."

The ultimate deception is to think that one can live a life of perpetuals in and be saved. Nowhere in Scripture is the notion ofa lifestyle of sin considered consistent with regeneration.

Other troubling statements made by Dr. Ed Smith in "Beyond Tolerable Recovery".

On page 228 Dr. Smiths speaks of true repentance, "True repentance is the inner mental change which occurs when God intercedes on our behalf in the darkness of our false thinking. When we are able to receive truth in our innermost parts (subconscious mind), this truth will transfer and translate into our conscious awareness and outward behavior.

When we know the truth experientially we can walk in true victory .  A fundamental rule of interpretation is that our experience must always be measured against God's Word; never is God's Word to be measured against our experience.

On page 235 Dr. Smith says, "It is time we began to proclaim the true Gospel. that says we are incapable of keeping any part of the law whether it be the Tora or the New Testament." The Bible says in II Peter 2:2-4 "Grace and peace be multiplied to you will the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord as His divine ower has given to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the diving nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." In our own strength we will always fail to meet God's righteous requirements of holiness. However, as God's power works through us we gain victory over sin.

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all thing~through Christ who strengthens me." The reality is that this is a process, which we call sanctification, that takes time as the Spirit of God transforms us into the very image of God."

Conclusion:

I share this information because I learned directly from Ed Smith and went for 3 years to get well.  I only got worse.  I thought I was getting better but the anxiety attacks increased because of blocked memories that I thought were being healed.  I got to the point if I heard the word, I would trance out and want to warn others in regards to Theophostic and other Inner Healing Modalies.

Word From Dennis Cramer - Seer - for 2011

Eleven Words For 2011

What exactly is meant by the phrase “at will”?

I would like to add some clarity to explain my 2011 (global) prophecy, a “word in season” for the body of Christ in every nation. Perhaps, the phrase “at will” that appears after a number of the “doctrines of concern” that I address in point three below, could be more clearly understood by the reader.

“At will” means a believer makes a decision, on his own, to initiate or attempt to duplicate a particular sovereign, supernatural experience. The individual wants a particular supernatural experience to happen so badly, he will do anything, (within his power), to make it happen – to force it, to duplicate or copy it, whether or not it is God’s sovereign will. Rather, a believer should allow God to SOVEREIGNLY cause it to happen at His chosen time, as we see recorded in all similar bible examples.

When a believer unwisely exercises his (soulish) human will, outside of or in conflict with the sovereign will of God, (anything contrary to the written word of God, the bible), he is producing a seemingly supernatural (source unclear) experience, from his own will or “at will”. This is the meaning of “at will.” “At will” is self-will, and self-will can be sinful, and can lead to all kinds of spiritual deception and questionable practices.

The question of supernatural sovereign experiences “at will”

Do I believe in third heaven experiences? Absolutely, I do. The bible supports such sovereign experiences as in the example of Paul in II Cor.12. Do I believe in being physically transported? Absolutely, I do! By a sovereign act of God, Phillip was physically transported (Acts 8) from one location to another. So if it’s in the bible I believe it! I believe it all! Amen!

However, there is a huge difference between God willing you to have a certain sovereign bible experience, (like Paul or Phillip) as opposed to you willing it, or trying to make it happen, to duplicate it through mere human effort or merely through the exercising of your human or soulish will, in other words, “at will.” These bible experiences were 100% sovereign. They did not happen because these individuals willed them into existence or willed them to happen. God and God alone initiated them – He and He alone willed them. This is the very nature of a sovereign experience: God makes it happen when He wants, where he wants, and with whom He wants. Period! And they usually happened when the candidates or recipients least expected it. Why? Because these were sovereign events, not planned or initiated by man, but by God.

When discussing a sovereign experience there is a big difference between initiating versus cooperating. God initiates all sovereign experiences, the believer cooperates with them. Mix the two, crisscross them, and this can lead to some real doctrinal confusion and counter-productive measures.

It’s all about God’s sovereignty…

The critical issue with operating in the supernatural is: who is initiating what or who is “willing” what? Teaching believers that by following certain steps, teachings, formulas, and/or merely exercising their own human wills, they can duplicate any sovereign supernatural experience is dangerous and unscriptural.

One cannot go to heaven like Paul or be transported physically like Phillip simply because they want to, or because they feel like it, (at will). Teachings like this often cross over into dangerous methods and techniques that resemble new age, mysticism, spiritism or other occult manipulative practices. A believer cannot and must not force, manipulate, or otherwise attempt to reproduce a sovereign supernatural bible experience by merely following a method, a series of steps, or worst of all “willing it” to happen.

Whether we are discussing being translated in the spirit or transported physically, or any supernatural sovereign experience we read about in the bible, the critical difference between whether it is God or not is who “willed” it to happen: Was it you or was it God? If you willed it to happen, it ceases to be a sovereign, God ordained, supernatural, bible experience, and you risk experiencing a counterfeit.

It Is Time To Dust Off Your Bible!

Picture in your mind, if you will, the image of an unused dust-covered bible. Now picture in your mind that this same dust-covered bible is your bible! This is not a good image to be sure, especially for a bible believing Christian in 2011. Sadly, many Christians now read more books about the bible then they do the bible itself. Consequently, many in the church have gradually, and somewhat unknowingly become biblically ignorant, unaware, or stunted. And doctrinally speaking, anything goes. There is now wide-spread acceptance of “marginal to heretical” doctrines. Just 25 years ago individuals would have been thrown out of the church if caught teaching these heresies. How did this happen? Simply, we have become biblically ignorant. We have not been diligent to feed on the unadulterated Word of God. We are at best malnourished and in some cases starving to death. Biblical ignorance is on the increase in the church, even to epidemic levels! Like any form of “lack” created by ignorance which can lead to sickness, only the proper “intake” or in these cases, only proper biblical education can remedy it.

“Warning: We live in an age of “anything goes” theology! The charismatic church is in big trouble!”

So, here is my 2011 prophetic “prescription” for this beautiful but biblically challenged, even unhealthy, bride.

1. Orthodoxy! I would like to prescribe a good healthy dose of the written Word of God, the bible. The church needs an immediate injection of the truth! We must all pray for the church to return to the orthodoxy (traditional belief) of scripture. This means a return to the proper reading, INTERPRETATION, and application of the bible in our lives. There is a growing trend towards some really bad doctrine out there. And we, the church, must put a stop to it! If we don’t, no one else will! The church must begin to police herself against unorthodox (false) teaching and bizarre practices. You must reacquaint yourself with the scriptures and know your bible.

“In 40 years of serving God, I have not heard so much bad doctrine preached from so-called ‘bible believing’ Christians – specifically charismatic Christians.”

2. Berea! We must pray for a “Berean Revival” in the church – a revival which returns us all to our roots – our roots in the Word of God. In the bible, the original Bereans were believers who “searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things be so”. There is a lot of doctrine currently in circulation in the charismatic church that is highly questionable – even heretical. Each believer must begin to “search the scriptures” for himself to discover whether what he is believing is biblical or not (Acts 17:11). Stop unequivocally trusting ministers and their pulpits to always and completely preach the truth – some do, some do not. You need to search and know the scriptures for yourself. If their teachings sound too good to be true – they very well may be! Know your bible.

3. Preach the Word! (IITim. 4:2) It is time for the church to return to her basic bible beliefs (fundamental doctrines) and the core values these fundamental doctrines produce. Peripheral doctrines or beliefs are peripheral for a reason, and can lead to dangerous theologically positions and questionable practices. We must stop extracting obscure, vague, single, solitary verses out of context, and stop trying to make major “sound” doctrines out of them. This “stretching of the truth” must stop. Some of our so-called “proof texts” do not prove what’s being preached at all. We are “twisting the scriptures to our own destruction.” We must again major in major doctrine and minor in the minor ones. My prophetic word to all Pastors/ Teachers for 2011 is simple: “Preach the Word!” Know your bible.

Some examples of current doctrine circulating in the church: You must believe me that I am NOT making this stuff up!

DOCTRINES OF CONCERN

• OPEN THEISM: Teaches that God does not always know the outcome of earthly events when man is involved – that man can actually catch God “off guard”, surprise Him, and alter His will. For example, it teaches that God did not know Adam was going to sin. Yet there are numerous verses that clearly teach God is sovereign and knew exactly what was going to happen and when it was going to happen. If God did not know that Adam was going to sin, then why was the Lamb slain from before the foundations of the world? (I Pe.1:18-20) Additional proof texts: Eph.1:4, Ps.139.4, Ps.139:16, Is.46:10, Ecc. 3:11, I Jn. 3:20, Jn. 21:17. If God is not omniscient, then He is not sovereign. If He is not sovereign, then He is not God. God is all-knowing: past, present, and future. Open theism is a dangerous teaching that under- mines the sovereignty, majesty, infinitude, knowledge, existence, and glory of God and exalts the nature and condition of man’s own free will. A god of open theism is not as knowledgeable or as ever-present as the true God of the bible.

• ULTIMATE RECONCILIATION: Teaches that hell will one day be emptied, that all of mankind (saved and unsaved) will live together eternally in heaven regardless of their actions while they lived on earth. This is an old heresy that pops up every fifty years or so. There is no biblical basis for this very dangerous doctrine.

• THE “NEFILIN” CHILDREN ALIVE ON EARTH: Teaches that there are currently living beings on the earth who are the distant offspring of the original “giants” conceived by angels and women mentioned in the book of Genesis. This is pure speculation. Recent books on the subject have caught our attention, but this topic was never supposed to be a major bible doctrine. Some authors have taken extreme liberty and license to write about it. Again, it is pure speculation and could serve as a distraction from more important issues in the church.

• OPEN HEAVEN: Teaches that we as Christians should be asking God to “rend the heavens” and open them to us so we could experience God’s power and presence. Actually, this is totally unnecessary since God, through Jesus Christ, has already fully opened the heavens to each and every believer. Every believer has been walking under the “open heaven” atmosphere from the moment they were born again. Hebrews calls it the “throne of Grace” (Heb.4:16). This “throne of grace” in heaven is already open and available, 24/7, to all believers who access it in the name of Jesus. How? By faith.

• THIRD HEAVEN EXPERIENCES AT WILL: SEE INTRODUCTION

• GOING TO HEAVEN AT WILL TO GET YOUR GIFTS: SEE INTRODUCTION There is no biblical record of any believer having to go to heaven to get any gift. This is a totally unnecessary spiritual exercise. The three listings of gifts in Romans, I Cor., and Ephesians have all been in the church for over two thousand years. They are not in heaven, so why go there to get them? The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have each deposited Their respective gifts in the church here on earth. For 2000 years, Christians have been receiving here ON EARTH from this great deposit of gifts. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, ON EARTH, as it is in heaven.” Amen!

• CLOUD OF WITNESSES / DEAD SAINTS: Teaches that Christians should expect the intervention of dead saints in our daily lives. This entire deception is based on a terribly irresponsible interpretation of a single obscure verse in Hebrews 12:1. We do not need dead saints intervening in our lives. We have Jesus as our Mediator, the ONLY mediator we need between God and man (I Tim.2:5) and He is not dead. He is alive! Necromancy, that is, communication with the dead, (any dead) is forbidden in scripture.

• TRAVELING IN TIME AT WILL: I have been unable to find this in the bible. Let alone doing it “at will.”

• TRANSPORTING PHYSICALLY AT WILL: SEE INTRODUCTION

• OVER EMPHASIS ON ANGELS: Yes, they are real. But an angelic visitation is a rare and precious event. Most Christians will never have an encounter with one. And it is extremely unlikely that a Christian will be visited by an arc angel. Michael and Gabriel were given specific, significant, world changing tasks in the scriptures. It is likely that they have more important things to do than to drop by your house for a visit!
• GOING INTO TRANCES AT WILL: SEE INTRODUCTION

• TRANCE DANCING: I have been unable to find this in the bible.

• GOING TO HELL TO DISCERN EVIL SPIRITS IN ORDER TO DELIVER SOMEONE: No one in the bible ever had to go to hell to discern a spirit. Why should we?
• HYPER-GRACE: CHRISTIANS DO NOT NEED TO REPENT OF SIN. The only biblical response for sin is ALWAYS repentance for both the sinner and the saved. How else can a believer be accountable for his sin except to repent of it? No form of grace removes the believer’s responsibility to repent for his sin.

• QUICK RESTORATION OF FALLEN CHURCH LEADERS: Why should a fallen leader necessarily be restored back to his ministry, especially after numerous failures over the space of years? Sometimes fallen leaders should not be restored back to ministry at all, but back to finding a secular job, loving their spouse, and raising their kids. However, if it is decided that a fallen leader be restored back to his ministry, I am not against restoring that leader. I am however against restoring that leader too quickly.
• DIVORCE AMONG CHRISTIANS WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES: All of us are aware of the terrible increase of divorce among Christians. Yet, what troubles me more is the lack of consequences from these divorces. Covenant is very important to God. Divorce is not God’s best. Breaking the marriage covenant is a serious issue. Yet many Christians, and even ministers, never miss a step. One day they divorce, and soon after they are back in the pulpit and/or often in a new marriage.

• THE BIBLE CONTAINS CULTURAL AND GENDER BIASES: No, it does not! I’ve actually been told by pastors that they have made decisions to counter the various biases that they perceive in the bible. I was stunned! How can the bible be inerrant, infallible, and contain biases and/or prejudices at the same time? It cannot! But some preach this from their pulpits, misrepresenting God’s word, the bible.
4. Seducing Spirits! (ITim.4:1-4) There has been loosed on the church for 2000 years a literal army of demons who sole task is to deceive the church! Unfortunately, these deceiving, seducing, spirits are enjoying some of their most successful efforts. Why? The average believer does not know his bible. The bible is absolute truth, forever settled in heaven. It is our sword of the Spirit – two edged and deadly. To be bible ignorant is to have no offensive weapon against our enemy Satan. Our ONLY defense against our enemy is a proven offense. And our proven offense against this hoard of demons is the written Word of God, the bible. Jesus wielded this same written word-sword against Satan in the wilderness with great results. So should you! I hear the church saying again, “DEVIL, IT IS WRITTEN!” It does not matter what you think, feel, sense, or even believe. It does not matter what experience you claim to have had, or how many trips to heaven you claim to have made, or how many angels you claim to know on a first name basis. The only thing that matters is what God said in His Word. Know your bible.
5. The Devourer! (Malachi 3:11) WARNING: All Non-tithing believers are going to fall victim to a spirit called the “Devourer” unless they return to a systematic lifestyle of financial giving that the bible calls tithes and offerings! This demonic entity, an actual living thing, will attach itself to the finances of any non-tithing believer. However, for all faithful, tithing believers, the results will be the opposite: God will rebuke this Devourer for their sake, and they will enjoy the “open windows of heaven” lifestyle promised for all who do not “rob” God. They will be a “blessed land” with showers of financial provision from above! Know your bible.

6. Divorce! Some believers will suffer the consequences of unwisely entering into unscriptural divorces. These divorces of convenience have angered God, bringing Him to place judgments upon many believers and some ministers and their ministries. We need to be reminded that God hates divorce. Know your bible.

7. Deception! Many will willingly and increasingly enter into incorrect thinking. Hardcore deception will find a home in the church in 2011, if we are not diligent to know and follow the Word of God. Remember these words from scripture: “Be not deceived!” This is a command, and the responsibility of all bible believing believers. Notice that deception is a choice! We must choose not to be deceived in 2011. How? Know your bible!

8. Prophets! As a Prophet, Jesus Christ enjoyed only a very brief season of popularity, followed by His crucifixion as a falsely convicted criminal. Many prophets will suffer the same fate in 2011. I fear that the season of popularity for many prophets is over. As James wrote, “As an example of SUFFERING, take the prophets.” Know your bible.

9. Underground! An exciting and even more powerful supernatural “underground church” will emerge in 2011. The true church is much smaller than many think it is. True apostles and prophets will emerge within this true underground church. Essentially, a nameless and faceless core, these foundational ministries will re-direct their efforts away from their so called networks, and will devote themselves to returning to the local church level where their greatest effect and spiritual impact on the body of Christ will be realized. Know your bible.

10. Prize! God gave me this verse for literally every believer worldwide for 2011. “I press toward the goal (in 2011) for the PRIZE of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Remember that you have been apprehended by God, for God. Let’s all forget about those things that are behind, and reach forward (in 2011) for those things which are ahead. There is an eternal prize awaiting you! Know your bible.

11. Pearl! Jesus Christ is the Pearl of great price. He is your ultimate reward for 2011. He is your Master and you serve Him and Him alone for 2011! Make 2011 the year in which you live for Him again without reservation. It is time to sell everything (figuratively speaking) and purchase that Pearl of great price in 2011 and beyond! Amen! Know your bible.

Beloved, I think you get my point: Know your bible!
PROPHETIC MOVEMENT in AN UPROAR - Please Forward

-Andrew Strom.

Earlier this week we published big chunks of Dennis Cramer's "Word for 2011" in which he basically tears into a lot of the flakey and dangerous "New Age"-type practices found in today's Prophetic movement. Well, to my great amazement, I found that the Elijah List had actually published Cramer's piece as well! And it caused such a storm that they had to remove it after just one day - for "clarification"! But then they re-published it - only slightly changed!

For those who don't know, the Elijah List is the main email List for the Prophetic movement - publishing the likes of Todd Bentley, Patricia King, Rick Joyner, Bob Jones, etc. It also sells mounds of their books and CD's. For the Elijah List to publish something that basically refutes all the "Spirit Travel" and "Third Heaven Visitation" stuff is simply unbelievable. It would almost be like the Pope refuting the veneration of Mary!

I don't know what the Elijah List was thinking, but I'm sure glad they did it. Now maybe there's a chance that some of their readers will get out from under those dangerous deceptions.  But I am left a bit dazed by it all - because the very ones who have been advocating "spirit travel AT WILL" and "Trance dancing" and 'Third Heaven visits AT WILL' are the very ministries that the Elijah List has been promoting all these years!

Here is what the Elijah List founder Steve Schultz wrote after they pulled the first article when it caused such a storm-

"Dear Elijah List Readers, There was a huge number of people who were unclear on a few issues with Dennis Cramer’s word...

The most controversial aspect was the “AT WILL” issue. Apparently, there are some out and about who are teaching that you can transport or go to Heaven “AT WILL” – i.e. whenever you want. This is truly not taught in Scripture. The word “Doctrine” is another word for “teaching.” It’s an untrue teaching that anytime you want, you can go to Heaven or be transported... As soon as Dennis Cramer sends us a more in-depth explanation of the items he listed, we plan to repost my friend’s word."

ANDREW AGAIN: Steve - I'm so glad you wrote this, but do you truly realize what you are saying? Don't you know that Bob Jones and Todd Bentley and Patricia King, etc, are the VERY BIGGEST promoters of all this "AT WILL" deception that you are talking about? Patricia King even has a whole movement of "Ekstasis" Trance dancing! These guys have entire reams of teaching on how to "visualize" your way into the Third Heaven 'AT WILL'. They have been promoting it for years. Surely you know this? That's why your readers are so upset. Dennis Cramer is finally exposing and rebuking this stuff as the 'New Age' heresy that it really is.

On January 15, Elijah List reposted the "re-clarified" word from Dennis Cramer on their website. It was a little softer in places, but still it said the following very clearly: "One cannot go to Heaven like Paul or be transported physically like Phillip simply because they want to or because they feel like it (at will). Teachings like this often crossover into dangerous methods and techniques that resemble New Age, Mysticism, Spiritism or other occult manipulative practices. A Believer cannot and must not force, manipulate, or otherwise attempt to reproduce a sovereign supernatural Bible experience by merely following a method, a series of steps, or worst of all “willing it” to happen."

In the same re-posted word, Dennis Cramer went on to say-
"• Open Heaven/Spiritual Portals = BAD DOCTRINE

• Third Heaven Experiences At Will = BAD DOCTRINE

• Going to Heaven At Will to Get Your Gifts = BAD DOCTRINE

• Transporting Physically At Will = BAD DOCTRINE

• Over-Emphasis on Angels and Specifically Arc-Angels = BAD DOCTRINE

• Going into Trances At Will = BAD DOCTRINE

• Trance Dancing = BAD DOCTRINE

• Hyper-Grace: Christians Do Not Need to Repent of Sin = BAD DOCTRINE"
